ECPI College of Technology and Medical Careers Institute Announce Extension for South Carolina Military Scholarship Opportunity
ECPI College of Technology has extended its military scholarship program for South Carolina veterans who have served in Iraq or Afghanistan. This scholarship program was initially introduced in fall 2005 and is also available to spouses and dependents of military veterans who have served in these regions. Up to $150,000 in scholarships is available for students who begin classes at ECPI College of Technology or Medical Careers Institute, the School of Health Science at ECPI College of Technology, campuses in Greenville, Columbia, or Charleston, South Carolina through June 30, 2009. The scholarship may also be applied to online courses at ECPI.

Medical Careers Institute Raises Money for Muscular Dystrophy Association
Medical Careers Institute, the School of Health Science at ECPI College of Technology, recently participated in a Muscular Dystrophy Association Shamrock Sales event. The event, which ran from February 26 through March 22, 2007, included a contest where Shamrocks were sold and then counted as "votes" towards a pie in the face for unlucky faculty. Medical Careers Institute's Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education at the Newport News campus, Dawn Gaimaro, led the program which raised $1,665. All of the funds raised will be used to serve over 900 families in the Hampton Roads area that the Muscular Dystrophy Association serves.

Culinary Institute of Virginia Celebrates One Year Anniversary
Culinary Institute of Virginia, the School of Culinary Arts at ECPI College of Technology, is celebrating a successful first year of operation. The school, located in Norfolk, Virginia, opened in June of 2006; students began classes in September. It is anticipated that by September 2007, there will be over 200 students enrolled at the Institute. The square footage of the facility has been expanded to accommodate the growth in student population and faculty and staff are looking forward to an exciting second year.
